PUPILS trained with an Olympic hopeful.
Triple jumper Laura Samuel visited Baston Primary School on Thursday last week to teach youngsters about her sport.
Every class took part in an afternoon of activities, and children each did a 10 minute sponsored exercise based on Laura’s training methods.
PE co-ordinator at the school, Emma Gowers, said: “The children really enjoyed the day, it was really nice. They loved doing the activities with Laura and got to see her do a demonstration.
“They were amazed to find out about her diet and lifestyle.”
Children were given a signed poster of Laura if they raised £20. So far £570 has been collected.
The money will go towards new sports equipment for the school, to Sports for Schools and towards Laura’s training.
