Young netball players and athletes have been showing off their sporting prowess.

Two teams from Bourne Abbey Primary Academy have tasted competition success.

The Year 6 netball team took part in the Lincolnshire Schools Winter Games tournament in Grantham.

The mixed team put in a huge amount of effort and finished a commendable fourth in the competition, missing out on a bronze medal by just one goal.

And Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 pupils took part in a cross country event at Stamford Queen Eleanor School.

Year 6 pupil Erin Bailey came second and her sister Alice, in Year 4, finished third in her race.

The Year 5 and 6 girls team achieved second place overall while the Year 3 and 4 team finished sixth.

Headteacher Cherry Edwards said: “We are extremely proud of all of the children who have taken part in these recent sporting competitions.”
