School pupils have been learning about voting to prepare for the county council elections today (Thursday).

Bourne Grammar School sixth form pupils have been preparing to exercise their democratic right to vote.

The school invited Lincolnshire County Council team leader David Hair to deliver a presentation entitled, Democracy and You.

The presentation aims to encourage young people to participate in the democratic process, and pupils who had not registered to vote were told how to.

Head of sixth form Sarah Shales said: “Our students really appreciated the clear explanations about the council’s responsibilities and the interactive session helped to demonstrate how the voting system works.”
