Pupils at Bourne Westfield Primary Academy have handed over a cheque to a group supporting a Kenyan school.

A cheque for £260 was donated to Friends of Nyansakia, a group which works to help a school in Nyansakia in Kenya.

The school council visited Bourne Abbey Primary Academy, where the children were inspired to find out more about the group, which the school has been supporting for a number of years.

Members of the school council at Bourne Westfield invited one of the trustees of the group, Martin
Mckenna, to talk to the school about its work and fundraising.

The pupils decided to have a non-uniform day to help raise money and donated half of the proceeds to Friends of Nyansakia to help provide more teachers and increase the feeding programme in action in Africa.
