A school held a special assembly while collecting food items for the new Rutland Foodbank.

Pupils at Brooke Priory enjoyed taking part in a musical adaptation of the children’s story The Enormous Turnip, organised by teacher Carrie Grangham, to mark its support for the foodbank, which opened in Jules One-Stop in Melton Road, Oakham, last month.

Headteacher Elizabeth Bell said: “We are delighted to be supporting the new Rutland Foodbank.”
