YOUNGSTERS from a Bourne nursery dressed up as pirates to visit a bookshop in celebration of World Book Day.

Busy Bees deputy manager Laura Cuthbertson said: “We have been doing lots of fun pirate things, such as making maps and looking for buried treasure, making pirate boats and walking the plank.”

On World Book Day, which was yesterday, every child got a £1 token and the children walked to Walkers Bookshop in North Street, Bourne, to choose one of the World Book Day books.

Laura said: “The children looked fabulous as we walked in and we got lots of comments from passers-by as we walked with our pirates.

“The children loved being able to choose a book and proudly handed over their token to pay for it.”
