PUPILS at a secondary school have been learning the art of bricklaying as part of their construction studies.

BTEC Construction pupils in Year 10 at Casterton Business and Enterprise College work in groups, practising laying bricks until they are confident they can build wall independently.

Andrew Shirley, construction teacher said: “This is a great vocational experience for the students. It will certainly set them up with the skills and knowledge for a future career in construction.

“We are also grateful for the help and support we are receiving from our links with local and national businesses in the construction sector which have all contributed to the pupils’ success so far.”
