Youngsters have shown off their sporting prowess by excelling in a regional competition.

More than 60 pupils from Catmose College, pictured above, claimed victory in the Livingstone Athletics Cup.

The competition is held every year and features teams from Catmose College, Uppingham Community College, and Casterton Business and Enterprise College going head-to-head to battle it out for the cup.

The Year 9 pupils from Catmose College produced some excellent results, including Jack Astill who threw a personal best in the discus and finished either first or second in all of his five events.

In the girls, Chelsea Lucas came first in the 100m and 1500m. Overall the Year 9 boys came first and the girls were second.

In Year 8 and 7, the boys came second and the girls came first, while overall the Catmose College team came first by 63 points.
