PUPILS had the opportunity to experience behind-the-scenes work with a world famous broadcaster.

Excited members of the media team at Catmose College in Oakham Sam Cliff, Dan Purse and Lewis Clark, all from Year 10, were invited to visit the BBC Television Centre in London.

The pupils spent the day being shown the inner workings of the BBC and were even invited by Huw Edwards to watch him read the news live on air.

Exploring some of the most famous studios, they saw the home of shows such as Strictly Come Dancing and Blue Peter and even the weather studio where they had the chance to present the forecast.

Principal of Catmose College Stuart Williams said it was a fantastic opportunity.

He said: “This was an excellent opportunity for the students to get real hands-on experience at one of the biggest broadcasters in the world.”

The pupils put together a video of their tour at the television studios, which can be viewed by visiting www.catmosecollege.com.
