YOUNGSTERS have drawn the winner of a heritage themed quiz.

Stamford Civic Society and youngsters at Malcolm Sargent Primary School had Mercury readers scratching their heads as they tried to work out the answers of the quiz on the town’s history.

The winning entry was drawn from entries received by school pupils on Monday.

The winner is Alan Tutt.

Teachers at the school said youngsters had learned a lot about Stamford’s history while compiling the quiz.

Society member Carol Mead said that there had been 13 entries into the quiz.

She said: “The questions the school came up with were wonderful.”
