YOUNGSTERS used the great outdoors to help bring maths to life.

Pupils at Copthill School in Uffington took lessons in the school grounds this week. Children from Years 1 to 6 tackled a range of activities and used their maths skills in a practical environment.

Head of maths at Copthill, Veronica Hastie, said: “The children’s confidence in their own mathematical ability is raised when they have this fantastic opportunity to put their own knowledge into practical situations.”
