Duke of Edinburgh to visit Bourne Grammar School

His Royal Highness Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh

His Royal Highness Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh

A new school building will be opened by His Royal Highness Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh.

The Duke will open the Turing Centre at Bourne Grammar School on April 18.

He will arrive at the school at 3.30pm and will receive an official welcome from the Lord Lieutenant of Lincolnshire, Tony Worth.

He will then be given a tour of the Turing Centre and will see pupils working in it. The Duke will be treated to a reception and tea in the main hall before leaving at about 4.30pm.

The school will close earlier than usual on the day but pupils not involved in the tour will be able to return for the Duke’s visit.

The new building will house systems and control and computing pupils and has been named after computing pioneer Alan Turing.
