Pupils have been learning about democracy at the annual general election for school councillors.
The children at Bourne Abbey Primary Academy produced posters, manifestos, leaflets and badges to try to win the votes of fellow pupils.
Children from Year 1 through to Year 6 voted and chairman of governors John Kirkman, counted the votes and presented the successful candidates with badges and certificates during special assemblies.
Head teacher Cherry Edwards said: “The School Council gives the children a platform to express their views and strengthens involvement in their school and local community.”
Council co-ordinator Debbie Pattison said: “This is an excellent learning opportunity for all involved and enhances the citizenship curriculum.”
