An apprentice has completed his City and Guilds qualification during National Apprenticeship Week.

Mike Bloxham joined Rutland County Council’s IT department in January 2013 to study for his Level 2 IT users diploma. He is pictured receiving his certificate from the council’s director for resources, Debbie Mogg, this week.

Mr Bloxham said: “The last year has been the most exciting and rewarding time of my life. Although very challenging at times, it’s by far the most worthwhile thing I have ever done.

“I have a chance at a new career and a real improvement in my prospects. I also have gained a huge amount of self-belief and confidence. It’s never too late to gain new skills.”
