Olympic hockey player Crista Cullen officially opened the new all-weather pitch at Copthill School in Uffington.
Crista, who won a bronze medal in the London Games, joined pupils and guests on the pitch to have a go at putting a puck past the under 11 goalkeepers Bea and Cecily Wells.
The group were then treated to hot soup cooked over an open fire in the forest school, followed by a coaching session with Crista.
Head of PE Helen Harriss said Crista’s enthusiasm for sport was an inspiration.

The school also had cause to celebrate after it was ranked 42nd in the Times Good Schools Guide for preparatory schools.
