A visiting scientist was the highlight of a themed week at St Gilbert’s Primary School in Stamford.

Pete Wearn, known to the pupils as Cool Pete, hosted a series of workshops and a special assembly for the school pupils as part of their science week.

The whole school took part in a range of scientific activities relating to topics each individual class has been working on in their science lessons.

Science co-ordinator Catherine Munson-Pike said: “The children had tremendous fun. Science week provides the opportunity for the chilsdren to get involved in lots of exciting investigations and experiments to develop their enthusiasm for science.”
