An opticians has helped ensure the safety of primary school children by donated 50 high visibility vests.

Staff from Specsavers, based at Morrisons in Uffington Road, Stamford, visited Malcolm Sargent Primary School on Tuesday.

Store manager Michael Hinder brought 50 fluorescent vests to give to the school’s Year 6 junior road safety officers Lucy Reho, Ross Golshan and Jack Wallington.

Teaching assistant Nicola Morpeth said: “We take road safety very seriously and our junior road safety officers are responsible for spreading the message to their class mates and throughout the school.

“This donation will help them continue the important work they do throughout the year and we’re really grateful to Specsavers.”
