A group of 14 pupils held a Christmas festival at The Deepings School on Sunday to raise money to fund their gold Duke of Edinburgh expedition to Morocco next summer.

PE teacher and Duke of Edinburgh coordinator Cheryl Smith said: “The pupils organised everything, came up with the game ideas and made the items they sold.

“There was a constant flow of people throughout the day and they raised more than £300. It’s a really good start to their fundraising.”
