St Augustine’s Primary School in Stamford and English Martyrs Primary School in Oakham joined the multi-academy trust on Wednesday, which also includes four other schools - one in Sleaford and three in Lincoln.
The trust is known as St Gilbert of Sempringham Catholic Academy Trust and each school will now be a catholic voluntary academy. The Oakham and Stamford schools will remain federated.
Each school will have its own governing body, responsibility for its day-to-day running and receive its own funding but there will be a trust board with representatives from each school.
Headteacher of both schools Sue Hooley said: “Our pupils very much enjoy being associated with other schools and from an educational perspective the multi-academy trust will doubtless deliver huge benefits.
“Providing further opportunity for staff development and identifying and establishing best practice across the six academies within the trust will ensure our continued success and enable our children to maximise their learning.”
