Sixthformers at Arthur Mellows Village College in Glinton have been getting advice on how to prepare for their first jobs.

IT specialist recruitment consultant Emma Larrington and commercial recruitment consultant Joanna Osib, both based at The One Group’s office in Peterborough, gave a talk to the teenagers about jobs in the local marketplace.

They also helped the sixthformers write professional CVs and talked them through competency based interview techniques and how work experience can help when finding a first job.

Emma said: “We give this sort of advice to all of the candidates who register with us, so we thought it might be a good idea to share these tips for success with youngsters who will soon be looking to make their move into employment. As specialists in matching the people with the right prospective employer, we hope we gave them effective pointers to prepare professional CVs which will sell their skills to future employers.”
