Hard work is paying off at Linchfield Community Primary School where children and staff have received an early Christmas present.
The Deeping St James school has been rated good in all areas by Ofsted, just 19 months after inspectors said it “requires improvement”.
We will use this as a springboard to move the school on even further in our aim to provide the best possible education for the pupils of LinchfieldAndy Fawkes, headteacher of Linchfield Community Primary School, Deeping St James.
But after a visit last month, Ofsted found a school where “substantial improvements” had been made since its last report in March 2014.
Leaders at Linchfield “are ambitious for the school to continue to improve”, reception children are “benefiting from good-quality provision” and the curriculum “prepares pupils well for the next stage of education and for life”.
Headteacher Andy Fawkes said: “We are delighted with the report which is testament to the hard work and dedication of our leadership team, all the staff at the school and, of course, the children themselves.
“There has been a huge effort from everyone at the school and it is competely different to how it was when I first arrived two and a half years ago.
“We have an absolutely fantastic team of staff, some very happy children who are making good progress and the tremendous support of governors and parents.”
The school was encouraged by Ofsted to ensure that all teachers assess children’s work to ensure progress is made, especially older children in Key Stage 2 and to set work in line with pupil’s abilities.
Mr Fawkes said: “We will use this as a springboard to move the school on even further in our aim to provide the best possible education for the pupils of Linchfield.”
“Everyone has worked tirelessly to get the school to this position and we can tell parents that Linchfield is a great place to send your children.”
Co-chairman of governors David Henderson added: “There has been an unbelievable effort put in by the headteacher and all the staff at the school to enable Linchfield to achieve a good Ofsted inspection.
“It is something that should make everyone involved with the school very proud.”
