The people behind plans for a new sixthform college in Rutland have announced that it will be built in Oakham.

A statement on the Harington School website said: “The Harington Trustees are pleased to announce that the School’s preferred site is in Oakham. This is an important step towards the School becoming a reality and we look forward to you all seeing the building start to take shape in the next few months.”

The exact location will be revealed early in the new year.

Harington School is a joint project between Catmose College, Oakham School and Uppingham Community College. It is due to open in September 2015, and applications for the first intake are now open at www.haringtonschool.com.
