A school is set to hold a course for people who want to learn how to spin fibre into yarn.
Uppingham School is hosting the UK’s first Long Draw Spinning Summer School from August 5 to August 9.
Spinning wheels, fine quality wool and luxury fibre will be provided and the course is suitable for beginners with no equipment or previous experience. The course will be led by tutor Pam Austin, who has been spinning for nearly 30 years.
Caroline Lawson-Dick, enterprise manager at Uppingham School, said: “This is a first for Uppingham School and a fantastic opportunity. Pam will teach you how to spin yarn with a spinning wheel using the long draw technique.”
