SCORES of people have been doing a variety of mad-cap things for Red Nose Day today.

Children at Copthill School had a non-uniform and silly hair day to raise money for Comic Relief. Staff also ran a competition where the youngsters had to identify their teachers from their own school photos.

Teacher Anne Teesdale, who organised the fundraising, said: “The children loved doing their hair, there was a lot of red hairspray and some fantastic wigs.

“Even the staff got involved, and the headteacher wore a wig as well.

“The photo competition was a lot of fun, it’s fair to say the staff look a lot better now than they did when they were at school.”

The pupils each paid a £1 and the school will find out how much they raised next week.
