A design student has boosted his portfolio after coming up with the new logo for a committee set up to boost trade.
Stamford Town Team challenged professional and trainee designers to come up with a motif for official documents and promotional materials.
And while designs came in from several sources the winner was New College Stamford student Tyler Houston.
Tyler, 18, is studying a graphics course at the college and hopes to become a designer. But he was not expecting his logo to be chosen by the Town Team.
He said: “It was an extra assignment set for whoever wanted to do it. I picked it up to add to my portfolio.
“I wanted to give it a classy but modern look. That’s why I went for the classic writing at the top and a more modern font for the words ‘Town Team’. I also got the Stamford crest within the ‘o’.
“I never had any idea that I would be picked.”
Town Team chairman Tim Lee praised Tyler for his work.
He said: “We are setting up a website and we wanted a way to badge the Town Team.
“We issued a brief to the college and to a professional design agency and Tyler’s design was the one we like the most.”
