EIGHT make-up students from New College Stamford will be competing in a regional competition.

The college in Drift Road, Stamford, held an in-house contest for 30 of its first and year students on its level two make-up course to choose the eight girls that would go on to compete in the regional contest.

The semi-finals of the annual competition are held in Nuneaton in February before the finals in Blackpool for college students on hair and make-up courses.

Course co-ordinator Lisa Hassine said: “We always take part in the contest because it’s a great opportunity for the students to see what other colleges are doing.

“The in-house contest had a haute couture theme and it was a really good day. All the girls got a lot out of it and it was great to see how far they’ve already come since the course started.”
