A new head teacher has been appointed at Exton & Greetham Primary School.

Megan Davis, who has been acting head at the Church of England school, in Garden Road, Exton, for the past year said she was “delighted” to have been appointed to the permanent position.

Ofsted inspectors who visited the school in March this year had rated it ‘good’.

Mrs Davis said she had many exciting activities planned as part of the curriculum to develop the children’s learning.

Mrs Davis said: “Good things come in small packages, Exton & Greetham CE Primary School is one of the best-kept secrets in Rutland.

“Being a small school means that we are able to focus on every individual child and help them develop into confident independent learners.”

Exton & Greetham CE Primary School prides itself on the “family feel” of the school and the governors felt it was important to appoint a full time headteacher, Deborah Kennard-Kettle, the school’s business manager said.

“It is exciting to be starting the year with a new full time headteacher,” Mrs Kennard-Kettle said. “It’s a privilege to be working with such an enthusiastic and forward thinking head teacher. Exton & Greetham CE Primary School has a secure and exciting future ahead for staff, pupils and parents.”
