Lincolnshire County Council has approved plans to build a new primary school in Elsea Park, Bourne.

The decision was made by the council’s planning and regulation committee yesterday (Monday).

Councillors decided to approve the development despite fears it could cause parking problems in nearby roads.

Bourne Abbey Primary School has been chosen to run the new school, which will eventually accommodate 210 pupils.

A report to the planning committee said: “It is considered the proposed development would not have a detrimental impact on the amenities of occupants of nearby residential properties could reasonably expect to enjoy, or on highway safety.”
