Public meeting on changes at Easton Garford Endowed School

Proposals to transform a first school into a primary school will be discussed during a public meeting on Wednesday.

Easton Garford Endowed School in Easton-on-the-Hill is consulting parents and the community on the possibility of becoming a primary school this September, which would enable the school to take children up to the age of 11, instead of nine.

At the moment children go onto Oundle and King’s Cliffe Middle School.

If the proposals go-ahead, the school would get an additional class and the number of pupils on roll would increase from the current 40.

An increase in the number of pupils on roll would result in more funding.

The school has the space for an extra class and already has staff experienced at teaching children of all ages.

Staff said things were progressing well with the proposal.

A meeting has already been held for parents and carers to discuss the proposals but now a full public meeting will be held for the wider community to ask questions and find out more.

The meeting will be held at the school in New Road on Wednesday at 6pm.
