A long-serving teacher has waved goodbye to primary school pupils for the last time.

Alison Jones retired from her role as a teacher at Bourne Abbey Primary Academy after 17 years at the end of term.

A celebration assembly was held in her honour, attended by former staff as well as current pupils and governors.

She was presented with flowers, gifts, cards and a cake and pupils sang Go Tell It Down the Corridor for which Year 6 teacher Karen Smith had written new lyrics to the tune of Go Tell It on the Mountain.

Mrs Jones is pictured with four of the pupils, Gracie-Mae Kaufman, Morgan Bishop, Melissa Bradshaw and Jack Osborne, all six
