VOLUNTEERS from the Stamford Community Orchard Group have been sharing their expertise with a group of children.

Primary school pupils from Malcolm Sargent, St Gilbert’s, St George’s, St Augustine’s, Bluecoat and Uffington spent a day with the volunteers at their two sites in Stamford.

The children spent an action-packed day learning about the group’s efforts to preserve their community orchards for future generations to enjoy.

Stamford Cluster Schools co-ordinator Lisa Jackson said: “The volunteers put in so much effort to provide lots of activities for the children to enjoy.”
