Pupils enjoy long-awaited hot school dinners

More than two years after the kitchen build was first started, pupils at Bourne Abbey Primary Academy were able to enjoy a hot school lunch for the first last week.

On the first day the kitchen was open, catering company Food4Thought served just over 250 meals to children from Kindergarten to Year 6.

Headteacher Mrs Cherry Edwards said: “Our children and their parents and carers have been incredibly patient over the last two years as they have waited for our plans to come to fruition.

“I am delighted at the number of children for whom we have been able to provide a hot meal at lunchtime. It is great to see so many smiling faces and empty plates.

“Thanks must go to everyone who has supported us through this process and to Food4Thought for their fantastic food.”
