Children experienced life as Victorian servants during a school history day.
Pupils at Whissendine Primary School dressed in old-fashioned clothing and had a go at doing their laundry using a mangle and polishing ornaments during the learning event on Tuesday.
They also learnt to write with a quill and how to draw on slate in a schoolroom where the teachers had a cane.
Class teacher Alison Gorman said: “The children loved it. Being in character really helped them to understand how different life was back then.”
The five to seven-year-olds had been learning about Victorian lifestyles this term.
