FOUR schools battled it out in a kwik cricket tournament hosted by Burghley Park Cricket Club.

Pupils from Malcolm Sargent Primary School, St Gilbert’s Primary School, St George’s Primary School and St Augustine’s Primary School in Stamford took part in the event.

Each team played the other schools with the pupils from Malcolm Sargent taking the title after winning each of their games.

They took home a trophy and medals while all of the competitors received a certificate.

Organiser Ann Bennett, from the South West Lincolnshire School Sports Partnership, said: “There are some real stars out there and I hope those children will go on to play for local cricket teams.

“All of the children had a wonderful time and their cricket skills really improved throughout the afternoon. It was great for them to have the opportunity to play competitively against other schools.”
