AN OUTDOOR teaching space has a new roof thanks to the money raising efforts of Barnack School Association.

Headteacher Stuart Wainwright said: “I would like to thank all the parents for their hard work.

“They raise around £3,000 a year which shows the community spirit in the village.

“They donated £750 towards the new roof and they contribute to many other things at the school, paying for our swimming coaches and transport.”

The new roof will make the space more accessible throughout the year.

Mr Wainwright said: “We wanted to be able to maximise the use of our outdoor space.

“The children think it is a bit like a cave now so they like it.”

The school association will be providing the refreshments at the open gardens event at Walcott Hall on May 20.
