The winning designs in a jubilee medal competition have been revealed.

The Stamford branch of the Royal British Legion asked primary school pupils in the town to design a medal for the Queen’s diamond jubilee.

Judges chose the corgi design by St Gilbert’s Primary School pupil Ellie Marston, 10, as the winner. Prizes were also given to Gabrielle Ball, nine, of Malcolm Sargent Primary School and Tabitha Crook, eight, from Stamford Junior School.

Winners were given medals and St Gilbert’s school won a trophy for its overall standard.
