Schools hit by strike action

Have your say

COUNCILS are operating a normal service today despite thousands of public sector workers walking out on strike.

South Kesteven District Council and Rutland County Council both say they are operating a normal service.

But schools across the area are closed or partially closed as workers work out over a row with the Government on proposed changes to their pension schemes.

The Government wants workers to pay an average of 1.5 per cent more of their salary into the pension schemes.

Let us know of any school closures or other services affected, e-mail smeditor@stamfordmercury.co.uk.
