SINGERS are celebrating after scooping an award.
Staff and pupils at Easton Garford School, in Easton-on-the-Hill, have been awarded the Gold Sing Up award, for promoting singing during lessons, school trips and playtimes. The success is down to music subject leader Rachel Jackson’s hard work.
Year 3 and 4 pupils have enjoyed creating artwork with textile artist Sue Rowland.
She helped the children make silk paintings along with circular weaving patterns, bead flowers and fabric-painted people.
After school, staff helped to sew coloured beads onto the silk paintings. These were taken away by Sue to create a piece of art, which was presented to the school on July 14.
Headteacher, Nick Newitt, said: “We continue to look for and provide opportunities to give the children the chance to develop.”
