St Nicholas Primary School in Cottesmore is praised in Ofsted report
A school is celebrating after it was praised in a recent Ofsted report.
St Nicholas Primary School, in Mill Lane, Cottesmore, has achieved a rating of good, improving from satisfactory in a previous report.
Ofsted said the school had achieved “more progress in the last 16 months than some schools ever achieve”.
It received a rating of outstanding for its behaviour and safety of pupils, and leadership and management.
The school was given a rating of good for its pupil achievement and quality of teaching.
The chairman of school governors David Evans said: “We would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to all the staff, governors, parents, community members and children, who are the real ambassadors of the school.
“This is a superb result and everyone deserves to take enormous credit for their skills, dedication and hard work to make this school what it is today - a vibrant team which we all feel extremely proud to be a part of.
“We have come such a long way in such a short space of time.
“However, the team at St Nicholas realise that this is just the beginning of a very special journey to outstanding and beyond.”
