The school was given a rating of good for its pupil achievement and quality of teaching.

The chairman of school governors David Evans said: “We would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to all the staff, governors, parents, community members and children, who are the real ambassadors of the school.

“This is a superb result and everyone deserves to take enormous credit for their skills, dedication and hard work to make this school what it is today - a vibrant team which we all feel extremely proud to be a part of.

“We have come such a long way in such a short space of time.

“However, the team at St Nicholas realise that this is just the beginning of a very special journey to outstanding and beyond.”
