St George’s Church of England Primary School rewarded for health initiative

A PRIMARY school has been rewarded for its commitment to promoting healthy living.
St George’s Church of England Primary School, in Kesteven Road, Stamford, was presented with a Healthy Schools Award last Wednesday.
The Healthy Schools programme is a national scheme which aims to support and improve the health and well-being of children and young people.
The school ran a number of initiatives for the scheme, which included healthy cooking classes and Year 6 pupils promoting new playground games.
The project was organised by Healthy Schools coordinator Tracey Webster.
Head teacher Carol Dunlop said: “I would like to say well done to everyone in the school community and Miss Webster for steering the project. I am very proud of everyone involved.”
