Green fingered students from Rutland County College got their hand trowels to take part in a community project.

As part of their Year 13 foundation learning, the youngsters purchased and planted carrot, potato and spring onion seeds for Incredible Edible Oakham, a scheme which encourages communities, schools and clubs to grow their own plants and vegetables in large pots at Rutland Plastics in Oakham.

The students will be responsible for growing and looking after their own plants and are all thrilled to be a part of the project.
