PUPILS at a primary school have had their rackets and tennis balls out in force for special coaching sessions.

Youngsters at Edenham Primary School, in School Lane, Edenham, have been enjoying the free lessons as part of the Lincolnshire Lawn Tennis Association’s Mini Tennis scheme, a new initiative to get children into the sport.

The pupils have enjoyed five lessons thanks to national company R2R Tennis, and have been taught by professional coach Matilda Clark of Bourne Tennis Club.

She said: “I’ve been teaching the basic skills involved in tennis and the lessons have received great interest from the kids. I hope a lot of children will now take up the sport.”
