Three schools welcomed a group of teachers from China as part of an exchange programme.

They visited Casterton Business and Enterprise College, Uppingham Community College and Edith Weston Primary School as part of the Chinese Bridge for UK Schools collaboration with The British Council and the Hanban/Confucius Institute Headquarters.

They observed lessons and developed a climate change project which all the schools are working on.

Chinese teacher Zhou Li Mei taught a lesson in Mandarin to pupils in Casterton.

Principal of Uppingham Community College, Jan Turner, said: “Having now completed the headteacher and teacher exchanges, the next step could be considering student exchanges.”
