Wittering Primary School closed after gas leak

A primary school has been forced to close because of a gas leak.

Wittering Primary School will not open tomorrow (Friday). A gas leak was discovered yesterday (Wednesday) but the school remained open to pupils while National Grid engineers turned the gas supply off and identified the problem.

But as the leak is still being fixed the school only has partial heating and no water, so will be closed tomorrow.

The school is expected to reopen on Monday. Parents and guardians have been advised to visit the school’s website for updates.
