A SCHOOL held a thank you assembly for a policeman who is retiring from duty.

PC Colin Everett has been visiting pupils at Wittering Primary School for the last six years, teaching them about a range of issues from drugs and alcohol to road safety.

PC Everett is retiring from the police force and pupils gave him a card to say thank you for his hard work.

Headteacher Rhys Thrower said: “Colin has always been the nicest of people and he always has time to talk and listen.

“He will be greatly missed by all of us but it is a thank you, not a goodbye. He means an awful lot to the school and the community.”
