CERTIFICATES have been presented to budding young poets.

Talented youngsters who entered the Lincolnshire Schools Poetry Competition received their prizes at The Willoughby Memorial Libary and Art Gallery at Corby Glen.

Bourne Abbey Primary Academy pupil Joseph Cuffling won first prize in class 2 of the competition. He was followed by Benjamin Dimbleby, of Copthill School in Uffington.

Katie Wood, of Malcolm Sargent Primary School, Stamford, was highly commended in the competition.

Bernard Chase, one of the competition organisers, said: “The entries this year were of a very high standard and to have won was a great achievement.”
