CHILDREN in Stamford were out in force on Friday with one aim: to get messy.

A free giant messy play session was organised by Stamford Children’s Centre on The Rec and more than 100 children and their parents were there to enjoy the fun.

Among the activities on offer were hand and feet painting, water, sand pits, flour and water and slime.

The event was open to children aged eight and under and there were a number of creative and messy activities taking place.

Commercial development officer at Stamford Children’s Centre at The Bluecoat Primary School in Green Lane said: “We wanted to get out in the community and it has been great publicity.

“We’re really pleased with how many people are here and we have had lots of good comments and feedback from passers by as well as parents who have come along.”
