A recording studio is looking for unsigned musicians to enter into a national music competition.
Nepenthe Recording Studios, co-sponsor of the competition, is sending in artists’ music to Musicmaker Magazine’s Songwriter competition.
All entries will be showcased through the web, magazine profiles and possibly on local radio stations. Winners of the regional title will then be moved up to be judged in a national competition. Prizes will include guitars, recording equipment and recording time in UK studios.
Barbara Sandbach, from the studios which is based in King’s Cliffe, said: “The competition is very good for unsigned artists. The prizes for this year are yet to be confirmed but prizes in the past have included things like instruments and package prizes like a day’s recording in a London studio.
“Even for those who don’t win it’s still very good exposure because each entry is put online for people to listen to, so the artists will get a lot of publicity which is very valuable.”
Nepenthe is a family-run independent recording studio which supports local acts such as Pennyless and Jules Morgan. For help recording your entry visit www.nepentherecordingstudios.com or to enter directly submit one original song to www.songwriter-showcase.co.uk.
