Scavengers have helped get Bourne Wood ready for spring flowers.
The scavenging event proved mutually beneficial as residents carted away wheelbarrows full of firewood and the woods got a much needed clean-up.
Friends of Bourne Wood secretary Sarah Roberts said: “When the trees are felled, there’s a lot of wood around. This is a chance to fill up wheelbarrows with firewood for just £5. It also helps clear twigs so bluebells can push through.”
The next scavenging event is on November 23.
