Several villages were left without water today (Monday) because of two separate faults.
Residents of Carlby, Essendine, Castle Bytham, Swayfield, Witham-on-the-Hill and surrounding areas with PE9, PE10, NG33 and LE15 postcodes have been affected by the problem, which began at about 11am today (Monday).
Anglian Water engineers restored the supply by about 4pm, although the water pressure is slightly lower than usual.
A spokesman said villages surrounding Stamford were affected this morning by a fault at the water treatment works in Toft. This was fixed but as the water pressure built again, a water main burst in Ryhall, causing homes to be left without running water again.
The spokesman was unable to say how many homes were affected.
He apologised for any inconvenience caused.
